Used motor oil refining plant ‘’Universal Group Georgia" Ltd opened in the village of Kodistskaro, Kaspi municipality, near the administrative boundary lineÂ
 The enterprise was opened by Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Peter Wiebler, USAID / Georgia Mission Director, and David Saganelidze, Executive Director of the Partnership Fund.

" New enterprise opened in the village of Kodistskaro is a very good example for circular economy development in the country, which indicates, that reuse of waste makes new products " - said Solomon Pavliashvili.
The construction of the enterprise started in 2020 with the co-financing of the USAID project "Zrda Activity in Georgia" and the JSC Partnership Fund program "Startup Georgia". The project facilitates the refining of used motor oils, including engine, hydraulic and transmission oils, which is safe and at the same time meets international environmental standards.
It is the first enterprise in Georgia, which refines oil products by using innovative "molecular decomposition" ‘’cracking ‘’method (fractioning of used motor oils at high temperature extract) the enterprise produces four different types of products (diesel fuel, fuel oil / bitumen in liquid fraction, high-octane fuel and methane gas). The respective enterprise will employ locals living in the villages adjacent to the administrative boundary line.

"Our main goal is to create jobs. The enterprise employs locals living along the administrative boundary line, which is the most vulnerable area at this stage. The United States is actively engaged in this process and makes every endeavors to carry out as many projects as possible to strengthen the population living along the administrative boundary line. The United States supports Georgia's territorial integrity" said Peter Wibler, USAID / Georgia Mission Director.
