Ministers to participate in the opening of a new enterprise

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mr. Levan Davitashvili together with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mrs. Natia Turnava and French Ambassador to Georgia Mr. Diego Colas held a visit to the village of Natakhtari in the Mtskheta region, where they participated in the opening of a new enterprise "Food Alliance".

"Food Alliance" is a new enterprise created through state support and joint efforts of our Ministry and the state program ‘’Produce in Georgia’’. This is the first time, when we embrace locally produced large assortment of bread and cookies, which, until this day was imported to Georgia. New products will replace imported ones. Exports are also planned in the future. The company produces semi-finished products by using European technologies. The international food safety standards are introduced in the company, which is fully equipped with state of the art equipment. More than 11 million GEL has been invested in the creation of a new enterprise, which employees about 100 people, including, IDPs –Mr. Levan Davitashvili said.

’Food Alliance’’ Ltd. offers its customers frozen, semi-finished pastry products, which are produced by using French methods. The experienced French technologist is engaged in the entire production process.

"The respective investment will further deepen the cooperation between Georgia and France. The project will create more opportunities for Georgian people and encourage the tourism sector, it will be the best practice, reassuring that investing is profitable in Georgia. The project is jointly supported by state programs 'Produce Georgia' and preferential agro-credit, which ensures the success of this project" said the French Ambassador Mr. Diego Cola.

The company "Food Alliance’’ Ltd has invested 11 million GEL to set up a modern high-tech enterprise, out of which, 1.5 million GEL is a preferential agro-credit. The establishment of the enterprise is supported by the state program ‘’Produce in Georgia’’, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Danish Refugee Council.

"I believe in the potential and economic stability of Georgia. Georgia is a small country, but investing is profitable in this country " said French investor Jacques Fleury, who has lived in Georgia for 25 years.


The company ‘’Food Alliance’’ is a member of the agro-industrial group, which was established in 2019 by Georgian, French and Dutch partners and implements different types of agricultural projects in a number of areas.
