Georgia and Korea discuss plans for multilateral cooperation

Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili and Mr. Otar Shamugia hosted the members of the delegation of the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation of the Republic of Korea. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Presidential Committee, Chong Soo Park.


In the course of the meeting, participants highlighted a wide range of issues, entailing deepening cooperation between Georgia and Korea, development of protected areas and the export of Georgian wine to the Republic of Korea.


" Enhancing trade, economic and environmental cooperation between Georgia and Korea will be beneficial for both countries. It should be mentioned, that Georgia has ambitious plans in the environmental protection and climate change fields, therefore, active cooperation with partner countries and their support is of utmost importance in the respective area "- said Nino Tandilashvili.


Georgia exported 90,000 bottles of wine to the Republic of Korea. It is important to continue working in this direction, increase export of Georgian products and boost Georgian wine export to Korea -was noted at the meeting.


 The Chairman of the delegation, Chong Su Park informed Georgian side about new policy of North Korea and Green New Deal. The sides discussed issues of deepening bilateral cooperation between the national parks of the respective countries and drew their attention to future projects as well.


 "Next year, Georgia and Korea will celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations. I am convinced, that our countries have enormous opportunities and potential for deepening economic and trade cooperation in the area of environmental protection ‘’- Chong Su Park said.
Representatives of the relevant agencies of the Ministry and state agencies of the Republic of Korea attended the meeting .
