Levan Davitashvili: " Based on preliminary data ,Georgia’s economy grew by 10.6% in 2021"

"According to preliminary estimates, figures show, that economy grew by 10.6% in 2021," stated Mr. Levan Davitashvili, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, at the end of a Government session today.

"Georgia’s economy is 3.1 percent bigger than it was before the pandemic. Consequently, the losses and economic hardship we experienced in 2020 as a result of the economic downturn, in fact is fully recovered. Our forecast and expectation, that we would have double-digit economic growth in 2021 has come true.

Our forecast was much more accurate, than that of our partner international financial institutions, which suggested more conservative figures. Recent data shed light, that the highest levels of economic growth was experienced not only by Georgia, but by Europian countries as well, which ultimately results in economic recovery" - said Mr. Levan Davitashvili.
