A premium class hotel Alaverdi Resort will be constructed in the village of Alaverdi. Mr. Levan Davitashvili, the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Mr. Gogi Salakaia, the founder of the wine company "Badagoni" dropped the symbolic capsule to officially mark the start of the construction of the hotel.
"We are delighted to see, that another valuable tourism infrastructure will be built in Kakheti region, despite a “difficult” COVID-19 situation in the country, which indicates, that investors and businessmen are willing to make additional investments in the area most affected by the pandemic.
Therefore, the investment being implemented at the beginning of 2022 is crucial in terms of the pace of economic recovery, which Georgia indicated in 2021. All of the aforementioned shows, that Georgia is developing and economy is growing in the country on the one hand, and, on the other hand, we take care and appreciate our traditions, values and historical / cultural heritage and Alaverdi Resort is the perfect example in this respect. It will be one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Kakheti region, which will bring additional, development incentive to the region ”said Mr. Davitashvili.
According to Mr. Gogi Salakaia, the founder of the wine company Badagoni, the project is especially important, as it will be implemented in the territory of church, therefore, it will be extremely important to maintain a balance, entailing preservation and safeguarding of cultural heritage on the one hand, and on the other hand, development of business, was noted by Mr. Salakaia.
The company "Badagoni" will invest 14 million GEL to build a premium class hotel Alaverdi Resort. The 32-room hotel plans to receive 8-10 thousand visitors a year. 80 people (mostly local residents) will be employed at the Resort. The hotel is scheduled to open no later than September 2023.
At the event, the guests visited the enterprise of the company "Badagoni" located in the village of Zemo Khodasheni and tasted the exclusive wine of the 2010 vintage "Saperavi Reserve". The tasting was led by the company's oenologist, Dr. Donato Lanati.
The ceremony to officially mark the beginning of the construction of hotel was attended by members of the Parliament of Georgia, representatives of local self-government, David Metropolitan of Alaverdi monastery, as well as the members of the management of the company "Badagoni" and Italian partners.
