"Currently, our country doesn’t face a problem in the supply of any food products, nor in the consumption of primary products
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr.Otar Shamugia commented on the food supply related issues at the meeting with the media representatives, after the Government session.
We held a meeting with the importers, we constantly keep in touch with them; At this stage there are no delays in the supply of food products.
Although, trade with Ukraine is hindered; but trade related issues are fixed in a manner, that our country doesn’t face a problem in the supply of food products, nor in the consumption of primary products or other essentials.
"We will be in constant communication with the importers and will act accordingly –Mr Shamugia stated.
According to the Minister, there is no problem in the wheat stocks in the country and there is no delay in this area.
"As for the prices of flour and wheat, we conduct negotiations with the representatives of the relevant sector. We are in the process of reviewing proposals; Ultimately, we will jointly agree on specific measures to take in the respective area.
"We will make an optimal, favorable decision for the country and for the sector as well" - said the Minister
