In accordance with the decision made at the Government session, the state financial support for purchasing harvesting agricultural machinery has been increased

According to the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, the Government adopted a number of important decisions, which touched upon farmers and enterpreneurs to get more benefits through state-supported programs.


The Minister noted, that PM of Georgia initiated to increase access to agricultural machinery. GEL 50 million was allocated in the agricultural field in the previous year. In accordance with the decision made at the government session today, the state financial support for purchasing harvesting farm equipment has been increased.

Under the programs of the Rural Development Agency, it is equally possible to purchase new, as well as used harvesting equipment through co-financing.

Under the Co-financing Program for Agricultural Mechanization, the co-financing for purchasing a used combine from agricultural equipment provider companies: Ltd. - Agricultural Logistics and Services Company and Ltd. AgroService Center - has been increased by 60% and should amount to no more than GEL 120 000. The used combine harvesters will be available to purchase until May 31, 2022.

As for purchasing new equipment, applications for participation in the ‘’Co-financing Program for Agricultural Mechanization’’ will start on March 1 (electronic application for co-financing are available on the website of the Rural Development Agency- RDA.gov.ge).

The amount of co-financing of the Rural Development Agency, per beneficiary, in the case of agricultural machinery intended for grain crop harvesting (combine harvesters), is not more than 30% of the cost of agricultural machinery, but not more than GEL 150,000, and in the case of other types of harvesting farm equipment (except grapes), the co-financing is no more than  50% and not more than GEL 150,000.
Under the terms and conditions of the program, the agricultural equipment to be purchased- must be new (not used). Agricultural machinery should be manufactured no earlier than two calendar years prior to the procurement. The warranty conditions should apply to agricultural machinery for at least 6 months from the submission of the application.
