Nino Tandilashvili: "With the support of the Government of Georgia, we are taking active measures towards diversification to the international markets"

Under the frame of the working visit to Qatar, the  Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili met with Mr. Mohamed Althaf, the Director of Lulu Group International, the largest hypermarket shopping mall chain in the State of Qatar. The importance of promoting Georgian quality and competitive products and establishing a distinctive place in the international markets was underlined at the meeting.
 
It should be mentioned, that in June 2021, with the support of the Embassy of Georgia, about 50 Georgian products were placed in 14 stores of the Lulu network in Qatar. The opening of a Lulu Group International regional trade representative office in Georgia was also discussed during the meeting.

In the Gulf countries, in particular, in the state of Qatar, the interest is significantly increased towards various Georgian products in the last two years.
 According to the CEO of Lulu, significant efforts are made by the Embassy of Georgia in Georgia and the State of Qatar, which contributes to the placement of Georgian products in trade networks in the Gulf countries. According to him, the growth of exports of high-quality agricultural products from Georgia is eagerly accepted in Qatar. The CEO expressed readiness to support Georgian producers in promoting their products.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the State of Qatar Nikoloz Revazishvili.
