11 entrepreneurs employed in the beef and dairy production sector will be provided with inventory worth up to USD 440 000, through grant co-financing

Mr. George Khanishvili, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture attended the grant award ceremony held within the project "Investing in Safe and Quality Livestock (SQIL)".

Under the frame of the project (SQIL), funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the beneficiaries will be provided with the equipment, which is essential for developing their business, the amount of co-financing is up to USD 440,000.

Under the grant competition, 11 farmers employed in the beef and dairy production sector obtained co-financing, moreover, the SQIL project has been awarded 36 grants totaling USD 930 000.

According to the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. George Khanishvili, the SQIL project entails not only grants but also educational aspects, including training, textbooks, and retraining of farmers, the project also promotes the development of the livestock sector in the country to meet the international standards. 

 

The 5-year project "Investing in Safe and Quality Livestock - Georgia" is implemented by Land O'Lakes Venture37 in partnership with the Georgian Farmers' Association. The aim of the project is to improve food safety and quality standards in the dairy and meat industries of Georgia.
