Otar Shamugia meets the Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Giorgi Surmanidze

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mr. Otar Shamugia hosted the Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Mr. Giorgi Surmanidze.

The counterpart Ministers spoke about the agricultural development programs and highlighted plans to support the sector.
 
It was mentioned,  that all programs implemented by the state in the agricultural field are tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs and farmers and are intended to support the growth of local production. 
 
"We always work in close coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. The State support to be used by farmers and entrepreneurs as efficiently as possible is crucial for us.  All successful projects achieve the results, such as the well-being of our population and the country's strong economy," Mr. Otar Shamugia said.

During the working meeting, the Minister of Agriculture of Adjara spoke about the citrus harvest-related issues and noted, that the post-harvest handling, storage, and sale of tangerine were held in an organized manner.

 "In the course of the meeting we discussed challenges facing the agricultural sector in Adjara region, we also addressed issues related to the current situation in the region resulting from the ongoing processes. It is very important, that we are already actively working on the diversification of export markets, regarding the export of Georgian citrus’’ said Mr. Giorgi Surmanidze.
