The Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Gharibashvili endorses a decision, according to which, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture in cooperation with the National Food Agency sends humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

"According to the decision of the Prime Minister, the Government of Georgia continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people.

In  coordination with the National Food Agency, we purchased food products, which will be sent to Ukraine in the coming days. We will continue to support our friendly country-Ukraine in this very difficult situation," Mr. Otar Shamugia said.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, and the Head of the National Food Agency, Mr. Zurab Chekurashvili thanked the staff of the Ministry, representatives of the business sector and all those who took an active part in the mobilization of humanitarian aid.

 "In response to a letter from our Ukrainian counterparts, the first aid items and essentials were collected, such as fast food, baby food, cereals, pasta, rice, water, all products that are in short supply in Ukraine," said Mr. Zurab Chekurashvili, Head of the National Food Agency.

The humanitarian cargo consists of essential food products, upon the request of the Ukrainian people, the application was sent by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) to the National Food Agency of Georgia.
Employees of the Ministry and Agencies within the Ministry, the Georgian Distributors Association, ‘’Sairme Mineral Waters’’, ‘’Pine Tree International’’, ‘’Waterland’’ and Aqua Geo took part in the humaniatarian action to support the Ukrainian people. 15 tonnes of products were collected with the mobilized funds and support of the business sector.

The cargo transportation and logistics  service was insured by Georgian Post.
