Agricultural machinery amounting to more than GEL 140 million provided under the state program of co-financing for agricultural mechanization

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, and the State Representative in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region, Giorgi Guguchia paid a visit to Abasha Municipality, where they inspected the equipment and agricultural implements purchased within the framework of the state program of co-financing for agricultural mechanization.

The equipment transferred within the state program is ready to be used for agro-technical operations, although, terms and conditions for farming activities should be taken into account.

"At the initiative of the Prime Minister, we launched a state program of co-financing for agricultural mechanization last year. Under the program, more than 2,300 farmers got benefits, moreover, GEL 50 million was allocated for the program, which made it possible to set up agricultural machinery amounting to more than GEL 140 million.

Today we have met with the farmers who took advantage of the program and we took a look at the new equipment, furthermore,  ensuring maximum support for farmers is important for us. We will implement programs that will be focused on the provision of farming equipment in the future as well. More agricultural machinery in the country means that all the plots that are important to be used for agricultural activities will be cultivated under the appropriate agro terms and conditions" said Mr. Otar Shamugia, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.Â
