Under the state program it became possible to mobilize agricultural machinery in the amount of more than GEL 140 million
In the format of “Minister’s Hour” Mr. Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported to the parliament on the activities of the Ministry and implementation of state programs in 2021.
According to the Minister, agricultural machinery worth over GEL 140 million was mobilized within the framework of state program of agricultural mechanization co-financing, which was launched in 2021 on the initiative of the Prime Minister. Within the state program, 2 327 beneficiaries received various types of agricultural machinery on co-financing conditions. Within the framework of the program, co-financing of the Agriculture and Rural Development Agency amounted to 45.6 million GEL.
As for the technical assistance program implemented by the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, state co-financing was provided to 132 companies, including 52 agricultural cooperatives. The technical assistance program includes the implementation of international food safety management systems and standards, product branding and packaging, as well as consulting services for the management of agricultural cooperatives, co-financing the equipment necessary for the final delivery of products in commercial form, and co-financing the cost of trademark registration by agricultural cooperatives.
