Otar Shamugia: "This is a great opportunity for our country, which we should use to join the European family"

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, spoke on the TV channel Maestro, ‘’Maestro Regions’’ about important issues, regarding filling out the EU membership questionnaire to get the status of the EU candidate country. Minister noted that a large part of the respective questionnaire is related to environmental protection and agricultural areas.

"This is a great opportunity for our country which we should use to join the European family. The entire Ministry is involved in the process of filling out the questionnaire and preparing the relevant answers. We will have answers to all questions in the nearest future. 

Since the signing of the Association Agreement, we have implemented very important reforms, regarding our country’s legal approximation with the EU acquis. The prepared responses will reflect all reforms and measures we have taken. We have made great efforts in the respective area, although, there is still a lot more work to do and we are ready for it, "- said Mr. Shamugia.
