Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili and Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture Mr. Irakli Guledani paid a visit to the Regional Laboratory in the city of Batumi

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues, highlighted laboratory capacities and future plans.

According to Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, the network of the State Laboratory of Agriculture is being actively enhanced to meet the international requirements, which will support Georgia in fulfilling its commitments in the approximation process with the European Union.

Mr. Irakli Guledani, Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture highlighted the achievements and opportunities of the laboratory network and spoke about the importance of research being conducted, aiming to meet the international requirements.
Within the framework of the event, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the State Laboratory of Agriculture and the Adjara Laboratory Research Center.
Adjara Laboratory Research Center is an internationally accredited laboratory operating in the system of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

Under the frame of the Memorandum, the links between the two laboratories were enhanced which means, that the exchanging of innovative research methods and inter-laboratory testing will be conducted actively in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Majoritarian MP’s of the Supreme Council of Adjara, Mr. Tite Aroshidze and Mr. Pridon Putkaradze; Deputy Ministers of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Mrs. Irma Abkhazava and Mr. Mirian Katamadze; Mr. Levan Gorgiladze, Head of the Research Center of the LEPL Laboratory and representatives of the laboratory; Head of the Adjara Regional Division of the National Food Agency and representatives of the Batumi Laboratory of the State Laboratory of Agriculture.
