Ozurgeti Regional Laboratory will provide international standard services to local residents

Ozurgeti Laboratory of the State Laboratory of Agriculture will provide international standard services to local residents. Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Giorgi Urushadze, State Representative of Guria Region, Mr. Avtandil Talakvadze, Mayor of Ozurgeti Municipality and Mr. Irakli Guledani, Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture attended the working meeting at the Ozurgeti Laboratory.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current activities and new research methods introduced in the field of drinking water quality testing in the Ozurgeti Regional Laboratory. The participants highlighted the laboratory capability/capacity -related issues, and future plans as well.

''Types of services provided, also researches conducted at the laboratories in the regions, and their compliance with the international standards are particularly important, especially, at the time, when we are getting closer to the EU standards. Moreover, I would like to mention, that upon the request of the local residents of the region, water quality monitoring has been increased. This is a crucial step forward to undertake the control on the quality of drinking water. Furthermore, veterinary area is also very important, preventive measures are being actively taken in the respective area as well, ”said Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili.

According to Mr. Giorgi Urushadze, State Representative of Guria Region, Ozurgeti Laboratory, equipped with the modern, state-of-the-art equipment, allows the local population to receive international standard services.

The representatives of Regional Division of the National Food Agency, and Regional Division of the Rural Development Agency in Guria region and the Ozurgeti Laboratory of the State Laboratory of Agriculture attended the meeting at the laboratory.
