Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia attends the event dedicated to Abkhazia Day

''Abkhazia Day is celebrated on May 23 with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II. Various cultural events are organized through the support of the government of Abkhazia, which are the utmost importance. We have a common history, culture and coexistence with Abkhazia. Abkhazia is occupied today; We all must make our best efforts to restore unity, build a strong, united country together," Mr. Otar Shamugia said.

Mtatsminda Park hosted an exhibition of previously unknown photographs taken by public figures in Abkhazia, moreover, screening of a film about the cultural heritage of Abkhazia was held and virtual tours were organized for visitors to view unique monuments through the digital museum.

It should be mentioned, that "Abkhazia Day" is celebrated  since May 23, 2014 upon the initiative and with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
