The Regional Draft Waste Management Plan to discuss in the town of Telavi
Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, together with the Director-General of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Mr. Carin Jämtin participated in the discussion of the regional draft municipal waste management plan in the town of Telavi.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) for supporting the environmental protection and agricultural development fields in Georgia, he also underlined the importance of the waste management plan for the country.
It should be mentioned, that Kakheti is the first pilot region where a municipal waste management plan has been developed with the support of the Swedish government and Swedish experts.
The First Deputy State Representative of Kakheti, Mr. Platon Kalmakhelidze and representatives of the municipalities attended the meeting.
