Solomon Pavliashvili attended the opening ceremony of the Economic Forum in the Kakheti region

Solomon Pavliashvili attended the opening ceremony of the Economic Forum in the Kakheti region. Representatives of the large and small business companies, as well as local entrepreneurs, participated in the forum.


At the initiative of the State Representative in the Kakheti region, Mr. Irakli Shioshvili, the Economic Forum was held in the Kakheti region. The Forum aimed to provide information about the economic potential of the region to a wide audience and promote local production.


Mr. Pavliashvili addressed the participants and spoke about the measures implemented by the Government of Georgia in the environmental protection and agricultural development fields in the Kakheti region.


"The respective forum is important, as far as it allows us to jointly evaluate the current results and set goals for the future. The state implements important programs in the environmental protection and agricultural fields in the Kakheti region, the tangible results are already visible :

For the first time in the history of Georgia, two areas of Kakheti have been granted the status of biosphere reserve by UNESCO, and the expansion of protected areas and the establishment of the emerald network is still carried on. As for agriculture, in recent years, GEL 2 billion and Gel 300 million were invested in the agricultural area in the Kakheti region, out of which Gel 300 million was state co-financing. 

In 2021, approximately 100 million bottles of wine were exported to 80 countries around the world, peach export is also increasing. We already have more than 18,000 beneficiaries of our state programs across the region, and the state continues providing support for them," said Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili.

The representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, representatives of the central and local government and members of the parliament attended the forum.
