Solomon Pavliashvili attends the ‘’Green Business Forum 2022’’

"Green Business Forum 2022" organized by "The Financial" newspaper was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili.
During the Forum, the participants underlined the role of a green economy and discussed issues, regarding the proper management of waste.

Along with its contribution to economic growth, the business sector should take responsibility for implementing mitigation measures for reducing the environmental impact and achieving the sustainable development goals in the country, was noted by the Deputy Minister while delivering his speech.

 

"The Ministry is actively involved in a wide range of activities, including the implementation of environmental measures, the circular economy and waste management strategies, also mitigating the effects of climate change, preventing air pollution and combating desertification.  It is crucial to continue conducting similar forums with the participation of state agencies and the business sector, which will enable us to identify more environmental initiatives and to have ‘’more communication’’ with the private sector" Mr. Pavliashvili declared.

 

"Green Business Forum" has been held in Georgia since 2017, aiming to present the list of companies with their environmental policies, projects and outcomes, also to discuss the perspectives of "Green Economy" development in Georgia, promote and improve the competitive positioning of Georgian businesses in the international market.

 

Mrs. Maia Bitadze, Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, as well as representatives of different companies, and governmental and non-governmental sectors attended the Forum.
