Otar Shamugia meets the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian


The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Georgia, Mr. Zhou Qian.

The importance of the 30-year cooperation between Georgia and the People's Republic of China, as well as issues related to the Free trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries have been emphasized by parties during the meeting.

Mr. Shamugia thanked the Ambassador for the technical support provided by the People's Republic of China in the fight against the Asian Stink Bug and for the projects implemented to improve irrigation infrastructure and develop greenhouses in Georgia.

As stated by Mr. Quian, Georgia has a great opportunity for agricultural development; Georgian wine is special and there is a real potential to achieve growth and stability, regarding the export of Georgian wine in the Chinese market. The Ambassador noted, that the Chinese side wishes to further deepen agricultural cooperation between Georgia and China.
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mr. Nino Tandilashvili attended the meeting.
