The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili held a working meeting with the representatives of the organizations, and producers of products subject to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). During the meeting, the parties discussed procedural issues, specifically, if organizations and manufacturers of products subject to EPR are registered in the EPR electronic register.

"The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is making its best efforts to introduce Extended Producer Responsibility in the country. We are ready to answer all questions posed by the representatives of organizations producing products subject to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)", said Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili.

From June 1, 2022, certain obligations were imposed on manufacturers of products subject to the EPR, which means, that the manufacturers must be registered in the EPR electronic register, they should be a member of the EPR organization and make a commitment to further manage the waste of the products they import.

From 1 July 2022, distributors of products subject to the EPR are obliged not to place on the market the products supplied by those manufacturers who are not registered in the EPR electronic register and are not members of the EPR organization.
