The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture meets the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to Georgia Hadas Ester Meitzad

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mr. Otar Shamugia held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to Georgia Mr. Hadas Ester Meitzad.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for deepening trade and economic cooperation in the agricultural field.


Otar Shamugia expressed his gratitude to the Israeli government for many years of fruitful cooperation and emphasized the importance of the historical relationship between the states of Israel and Georgia. 

During the meeting, the Minister underlined the need of applying modern knowledge, and approaches in the agricultural field and emphasized the importance of a number of successful projects implemented in Georgia by the MASHAV – the Center for International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Israel. 


Mr. Shamugia briefed the Ambassador of Israel on the ‘’Imereti Agro Zone“ Greenhouse Cluster Development Project and expressed willingness for fruitful cooperation in the aforementioned direction through the involvement of the business sector. 

According to Mr. Hadas Ester Meitsad, Georgia-Israeli cooperation is historic and will be further strengthened with the implementation of current and new mutually beneficial projects. 

 

Mr. George Khanishvili, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Mr. Giorgi Zhghenti, the head of the MASHAV program in Georgia attended the meeting at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
