The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia hosted the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, Ashot Smbatian.

Mr. Otar Shamugia congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his endeavors.

During the introductory meeting, the parties spoke about the close trade and economic relations between the two countries and explored ways to further enhance cooperation in the agricultural field.

Mr.  Shamugia noted that a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural area will be set up to engage both parties in a joint discussion about specific issues and make effective decisions.



Mr.  Smbatian emphasized the importance of centuries-old, good-neighborly relations between the two countries and expressed his readiness to further deepen the existing relations between Georgia and Armenia.
