"Cattle Expo 2022" was held in Georgia

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mr. George Khanishvili attended the cattle breeding exhibition "Cattle Expo 2022".

The importance of the exhibition in terms of the promotion and development of the cattle breeding and dairy industry in the country was emphasized by the First Deputy during the event.

"I would like to congratulate all participants on today’s exhibition event, in general, Georgian farmers, and I would like to note once again, that the programs of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture are developing successfully. Today we have seen many achievements of Georgian farmers. I would also like to express my appreciation to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program, which supported the holding of the respective exhibition’’ said Mr. Khanishvili.

US Ambassador to Georgia Mrs. Kelly Degnan attended the event.


The expo included an exhibition competition of high-yielding diaries, local cattle breeds presented from different regions of Georgia, and an exhibition/sale of agricultural products. Farmers involved in the livestock sector, processors of animal products, and companies supplying agricultural inputs also participated in the event.


The aforementioned exhibition aims to promote the development of the dairy industry in the country, popularize highly productive and local selective cattle breeding, and promote the development of the livestock sector.

 

The event was organized by the Land O'Lakes Venture37 and the Swiss Agricultural School Caucasus. The partner of the event is the project "Investing in Safe and Quality Livestock" funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), which is implemented by Land O'Lakes Venture37 in partnership with the Georgian Farmers’ Association.
