Nino Tandilashvili participates in the Japanese Business Forum

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili delivered a speech at the Japanese business forum, which was held in Georgia in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Georgia.


The respective forum aims to further deepen Japan-Georgia relations and establish a connection between the business representatives of the two countries participating in the forum.

 

Mrs. Tandilashvili expressed her gratitude to the Embassy of Japan for deepening the cooperation between the countries and noted, that the Japanese government has been supporting Georgia in various environmental fields throughout the years.

 

"Georgia and Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to establish the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). Under the respective Agreement, Japan will cooperate with Georgia towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Georgia aims to access new technologies and implement activities to achieve its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Moreover, Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) should ensure the deepening of cooperation between the private sectors of our countries and bring solutions to various environmental issues", stated Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili.

The participants spoke about a wide range of issues, including the sustainable business environment and trade potential of the region, energy, and climate-related issues.

 

The business forum was jointly organized by the Japanese Embassy in Georgia and the Georgian Business Association.
