The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia participated in the high-level meeting organized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27)

Within the framework of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia participated in the high-level meeting organized by the Convention.

The meeting was held within the framework of the "Needs Based Finance" program, which is implemented by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change with the objective of facilitating access and mobilization of climate finance for the implementation of priority mitigation and adaptation projects to address the needs identified by developing countries.

 

It should be mentioned, that Georgia is a part of the Caucasus and Central Asian countries program and a leader country ensuring meaningful and effective participation in the region.

 

Ministers from the leading countries participating in the program took part in the conference. The importance of access to climate financing, the need for strengthening cooperation between the countries of the region, and the need for capacity-building were emphasized by Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili during the meeting.
