During the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), Nino Tandilashvili met with the Head of the Adaptation Fund

Within the framework of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili held a meeting with the Head of the Adaptation Fund, Mr. Mikko Ollikainen.

 

It should be mentioned, that the Adaptation Fund is an important partner for Georgia. Over the years, important projects have already been implemented in our country and several projects are still underway with the financial support of the Adaptation Fund.

 

Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili emphasized the importance of the project implemented in the river Rioni basin - ‘’Developing Climate-Resilient Flood and Flash Flood Management Practices to protect the Vulnerable Communities of Georgia", with its final outcomes to reducing the risk of disasters.

Considering the aforementioned project, Georgia has ultimately developed a large-scale project in the same area, which is currently being launched through the financial assistance of the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the project implemented in pasture management through the financial assistance of the Adaptation Fund, future opportunities, and innovative projects.
