The Exhibition and Trade Fair of Georgian Agricultural Products was held within the framework of ''Farmer's Day''

 The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia visited the exhibition of Georgian agricultural products, which was organized as part of ''Farmer's Day''.


"I congratulate each farmer on National Farmer’s Day. Our farmers work hard, accumulate wealth, and strengthen their families and the country's economy. Farmer's Day is established to recognize and appreciate their contributions. Over the years, the Government of Georgia has been actively supporting farmers in primary production, processing, marketing activities, as well as product sales. Through joint efforts, we were able to produce and export more and more agricultural products every year. The Government will further support farmers in promoting and increasing their manufacturing competitiveness ‘’  said Mr. Otar Shamugia.


About sixty farmers benefiting from the programs financed by the state and international donor organizations took part in the exhibition, which was organized within the framework of the campaign "More Georgian quality products.


The exhibition trade fair showcased locally produced honey, spices, jams, jams, dried fruits, dried fruit, churchkhela, wine, chacha, meat products, cheese, juice, and micro herbs.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, in partnership with the European Union (EU), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Agricultural Program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Georgian Farmers' Association. Farmer's Day has been celebrated in Georgia since 2015.


The exhibition trade fair was held at the exhibition center "Expo Georgia" (Pavilion 6), which was visited by the representatives of the Georgian parliament, government, diplomatic corps, and international donor organizations.

The Farmer of the Year award ceremony will be held at the "Rooms  Hotel Tbilisi'' at 6:00 p.m. at the end of the event.
