Otar Shamugia meets the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development

During his working visit to Berlin, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Otar Shamugia met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk.

The parties emphasized the international partners' assistance on the path of Georgia's European integration. The Vice Prime Minister of Poland openly expressed his readiness to support Georgia, noting, that successful steps taken toward the implementation of reforms, the Association Agreement, and other areas provide an important basis for Georgia for further progress in the European integration process.

The conversation touched upon the possibilities for deepening trade relations between the two countries. As stated by Mr. Shamugia, Poland ranks second place among Georgian wine-exporting countries. In 2022, Georgia exported 6.6 million liters of wine equaled USD 14.5 million to Poland, representing a 32% increase in quantity and a 5% increase in value. 

During the meeting, Mr. Shamugia briefed Mr. Kowalczyk on the state projects being implemented for the rapid and effective development of the agricultural sector, intending to stimulate agribusiness and increase local production.
