Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Solomon Pavliashvili paid a working visit to Chicago, the United States of America

 

Within the framework of his official visit to the US, the Deputy Minister held important meetings with the representatives of the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). During the visit, the parties discussed new approaches and diagnostic methods for veterinary research as well as the treatment of animal diseases.

 

The conversation touched upon all relevant and essential topics related to bacterial, viral, and infectious diseases in animals. 
The Deputy Minister,  together with the director of the State Agricultural Laboratory of Georgia Mr. Irakli Guledani, and laboratory specialists attended the international conference of researchers of animal diseases.

 

The Specialists of the State Laboratory of Agriculture presented reports during the event, which brought together 200 scientists and field specialists from partner countries.
"Participation in similar events allows us to become acquainted with modern methods and approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases, also to showcase laboratory advances in diagnostics and highlight achievements in the scientific research field in Georgia for enhancing its prestige in the international arena" Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili stated.

 

It should be mentioned, that the State Laboratory of Agriculture- as a legal entity of public law operating within the system within the system of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture actively cooperates with the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), to that end, several successful projects have been implemented in the country under the framework of the respective cooperation.
