Solomon Pavliashvili presents the Updated National Waste Management Strategy and the National Waste Management Action Plan to the Parliament of Georgia.

Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Mr. Alverd Chankseliani, Head of the Waste and Chemical Substances Management Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, presented the Updated National Waste Management Strategy for 2016-2030 and the National Action Plan for Waste Management 2022-2026 to the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Parliament of Georgia.

The parties discussed the goals envisioned under the National Action Plan 2022-2026. The conversation touched upon the improvement of hazardous, plastic, inert, and construction waste management and the collection and processing of biodegradable waste.

It should be mentioned that the Waste Management Strategy will contribute to the development and enforcement of waste management legislation to meet the EU requirements and international conventions.
