Otar Shamugia: "Prices for widely-consumed basic types of bread are expected to fall soon."

"The Prime Minister of Georgia addressed economic growth indicators and the reduction of inflation level, which is critical for our country and citizens."

As for agriculture, we maintain growing dynamics in exports, according to the data for the first three months, just like last year, when we had an overall increase in exports, this year, we have positive trends as well. Moreover,  as for production, we are already expecting the final statistics of 2022. According to preliminary data, we have an increase in production, primary production, processing, and export," said Mr. Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, at the meeting with journalists following the government session.

The Minister focused on the current prices, noting that wheat and flour prices had lately dropped.

‘’Prices have declined dramatically, particularly for flour, consequently, we have already communicated with the representatives of the sector, bread producers, and expect that the reduction will be reflected in bread, and we will see reduced prices for certain, basic types of bread on the counters soon," Mr. Otar Shamugia said.
