Under the decision of the Government of Georgia, the restriction on the export of wheat was lifted from April 6.

Upon the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Government of Georgia decided to remove a temporary restriction on the export of wheat from April 6, aiming to assist wheat producers in selling their harvest.

Considering the situation in the region and the increased risk to food security, the Government of Georgia decided to impose a temporary restriction on the export of wheat in 2022. However, since there is no threat to food security in the country or the wheat shortage, the Government has made an appropriate decision to lift the temporary export ban.

Currently, farmers have an opportunity to sell their crops in both international and local markets.
