The informational meeting was held on the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

The strengthening of the capacity of organizations subject to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) has been discussed during the meeting. The experts briefed participants, shared their best practices, and reviewed operating mechanisms for newly created EPR companies and methods for developing business plans.

"Within the framework of the EU project, capacity building of organizations subject to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is underway. It is critical to brief institutions on best practices, including how to develop strategies, conduct audits, ensure marketing campaigns, and create a flexible system," remarked Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

Mr. Zaza Shavadze, Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Mr. Giorgi Suramanidze, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Mrs. Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the Environmental Information and Education Center, Mrs. Sofiko Akhobadze, Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus), and representatives of organizations subject to extended producer obligations attended the meeting.

The informational meeting on Extended Producer Responsibility has held within the framework of the EU-funded project "Waste Management and Development of Circular Economy in Georgia’’ with the support of the Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus), the Danish organization COWI and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
