Solomon Pavliashvili explores cooperation prospects in the circular economy development with the representatives of the German Institute of Metrology.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili met with the representatives of the German Institute of Metrology (PTB).

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities for collaboration toward circular economy development in the country.

 

Mr. Pavliashvili discussed waste management initiatives and emphasized the importance of developing waste management codes, waste management strategies, and action plan documents.

 

"Sustainable waste management and development are one of the priority directions of the government. Our goal is to promote the adoption of circular economy principles in the country, which will serve as a tool for implementing the green economy model and achieving a high level of waste management," said Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili.

 

The conversation touched upon the importance of strengthening the capacities of the agricultural laboratory and encouraging waste processing enterprises to determine the compliance of eco-friendly technologies in the country.

 

It should be mentioned, that the German Metrology Institute (PTB) has been undertaking metrology, standardization, accreditation, conformity assessment, and other initiatives in Georgia for several decades as part of international collaboration.

 

The representatives of the relevant services of the Ministry attended the meeting.
