Nino Tandilashvili meets the representatives of the Hungarian business sector.

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili hosted the representatives of the Hungarian business sector.

Mr. Dávid Bencsik, Head of the Directorate General International Relations and Foreign Affairs, Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) led the Delegation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of exchanging agricultural experience and knowledge between the two countries and deepening cooperation in adopting contemporary technology.
Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili stressed the need for close collaboration between Georgia and Hungary and the expansion of trade and commercial links, particularly when Georgia has the perspective of EU membership and is taking critical steps to obtain candidate status.

"Agriculture and, in general,  the agrarian sector is one of the priority directions for Georgia. It is crucial to receive all the support that will help us to fulfill our obligations within the framework of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and support us in the process of European integration. We actively cooperate with the Hungarian side, therefore, it will be important to support the rapprochement of the private sector and business circles of the two countries. Moreover, It is possible to create a platform that will make it easier for company representatives to interact and find partners. Georgia must share European experience in agricultural education, advanced agro-technologies, bio-production, and waste management. I believe we will strengthen our ties with Hungary, which will benefit both of our countries and bring positive results," Nino Tandilashvili said.

According to the Head of the Hungarian business delegation, Hungary supports Georgia's European integration and is ready to support the said process.

"We are open to cooperating with Georgia towards institutional development and introduction of modern agro-technologies, implementation of waste management policy, investment attraction, and product development. Hungarian companies are ready to find business partners and share their knowledge and experience with their Georgian counterparts. I believe that expanding agricultural cooperation between Hungary and Georgia will yield positive results," Mr. Dávid Bencsik stated.

The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary attended the meeting.

The visit of the Hungarian Delegation to Georgia will last from May 17-23. The Delegation embraces heads of innovative companies working in the animal feed production, waste management, food, bioproduction, and biotechnology areas.
