World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia: "For more than five decades, the United Nations General Assembly has been reminding us, reminding every citizen of the globe, that every one of us has a specific duty in safeguarding and preserving the environment; It is possible to promote sustainable development, protect and preserve nature, and natural resources by accepting this duty, ensuring that we and future generations live in a safe and healthy environment.

The policy, action plan, and all projects, programs, and activities of the Government of Georgia, including the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, are aimed at developing our country.

We actively continue fulfilling obligations under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, the majority of which is dedicated to environmental protection. We work towards legislative convergence, institutional strengthening, and awareness raising; We are gradually adopting the principles of sustainable development and preparing to become a fully-fledged and honorable member of the European family."
