Mtatsminda Park hosts the Annual Cheese Festival

45 cheese producers showcased their products at the festival, where visitors got familiar with the new, innovative products along with the traditional types of cheese.

"The state promotes the development of the dairy sector by supporting the primary production, processing, and adoption of international standards and systems. The mentioned festival has been held with the support of the Ministry for years and serves to actively support producers and popularize quality Georgian products", said Tengiz Kalandadze, head of the Food Policy Department of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
According to Anna Mikadze-Chikvaidze, chairwoman of the Georgian Cheese Makers' Association, and a researcher of the history of Georgian cheese, the festival is the best way for producers to present their products to consumers; When a sector has its festival and a large number of consumers are yearly looking forward to it, it is a clear sign of success.

The guests of the festival had the opportunity to taste and buy many types of cheese produced in Georgia, including Dambalkhacho (moldy cottage cheese), Chechili ( brined string cheese), Tenili, Sulguni, cheese soaked in honey and wine, smoked Sulguni, and goat cheese.

Mtatsminda Park hosted the cheese festival organized by the Georgian Cheese Makers' Association. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture supported the event.
