The upcoming grain harvesting in Dedoplistskaro was discussed at the working meeting.

Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, the State Representative of Kakheti, and the state officials of municipalities and farmers attended the meeting.
Government officials and local farmers discussed the upcoming grain harvesting-related issues.

"The harvesting of grain crops starts soon in the Kakheti region. At the working meeting, we discussed all the issues related to the smooth and successful implementation of the grain harvesting process.

The state provides all the conditions for handling and storing the wheat crop in an organized manner; however, we should also consider climatic factors. The Ministry has established a coordinating group comprising representatives of relevant structures.
The state and private sectors have mobilized around 300 units of harvesting equipment to ensure a smooth harvesting season. The season will be successful with collaborative, coordinated efforts.

As part of its policy, the state promotes the production of grain crops. We have seen an increasing dynamic in this direction in recent years. Grain crop production grew by 60% last year compared to 2020. This practice will continue this year.
The state has also decided to impose an additional fee on imported flour. This decision will support the increase of the competitiveness of locally produced wheat", said Tengiz Nasaridze.

According to Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, the state representative of the Kakheti region, all conditions have been provided to ensure a successful harvest season and that farmers can handle and store their crops.
