Nino Tandilashvili submitted the draft law "On Industrial Emissions" and related legislative amendments to the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

The Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia adopted the Draft Law of Georgia " On Industrial Emissions" and the package of legislative amendments in the second reading.

The draft law aims to transpose the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions into the national legislation.

The proposed law also envisions deploying various new technologies in companies, issuing an integrated permit, and much-simplified procedures for the enterprise.

"This is one of the most important commitments specified by the Association Agenda, referring to the industrial sector and the maximum reduction of pollution caused by the industrial sector. As you know, with this convocation of the Parliament of Georgia, we have adopted significant amendments addressing the limits of emissions of harmful substances into the air, which was one of the first steps taken toward enforcing the law on industrial emissions. This time we submitted a complex package to prevent not only the dispersion of air pollutants, but also soil, water, and environmental pollution with waste. The mentioned law will have the effect of limiting industrial pollution to a minimum. It is worth mentioning that we made significant amendments to the presented draft law for the second reading and provided very flexible procedures for businesses to obtain all environmental permits through the single window principle, which entails incorporating environmental impact assessment procedures and permit documents into a single integrated environmental permit procedure," Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili stated.

The committee supported the presented draft law.
