Nino Tandilashvili hosts the USDA Regional Director Michael Francom..


The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, met with the Regional Director of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Mr. Michael Francom.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed current and future cooperation issues.

 

Mrs.  Tandilashvili thanked the US government and the United States Department of Agriculture for long-standing support in agricultural and

 

environmental areas and emphasized the importance of climate-smart agricultural development.
The participants addressed the need to improve the irrigation system, promote the development of organic products, adopt modern technology, and raise public awareness; the sector's demand to ensure the grain production increase was also discussed during the meeting.
According to Mr. Francom, the United States Department of Agriculture projects in Georgia are effective, and the support will continue.

The USDA Representative in Georgia, Mr. Demna Dzirkvadze, and representatives of relevant Agencies within the Ministry system attended the meeting.
