The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture officials addressed programs to be launched as part of ENPARD IV.

Mr. Shamugia held a virtual meeting with the representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Georgia, Mr. Raimund Jehle, to discuss the details of the ENPARD programs. The mentioned programs will be implemented during the fourth phase of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).

The ENPARD IV programs include four support packages addressing food safety, aquaculture, and the development of the hazelnut sector. Support programs for small and medium business operators are already defined, comprising grant and training components.

"The programs that will be launched under ENPARD IV will be an important support and incentive for our farmers to obtain more results and gain more knowledge. Our entrepreneurs have significant support from the Government, although grant programs tailored to their needs are essential. I want to thank you for your constructive cooperation, which we have had over the years and will continue in the future", said Mr. Otar Shamugia.

The First Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, Deputies Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze and Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, Chairman of the National Food Agency, Mr. Zurab Chekurashvili, Head of the Rural Development Agency, Mr. Davit Tsitlidze, representatives of relevant Departments of the Ministry, representatives of ENPARD Mr. Javier Sanz Alvarez, Mr. Matthieu Rouviere, and Mr. Juba Maruashvili attended the meeting.
