The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture hosted the first working meeting of the group promoting the improvement of ambient air quality of Tbilisi Agglomeration.
Within the framework of the workshop, the project experts presented the findings of the primary research conducted to determine the quality of ambient air pollution in Tbilisi.

It is essential to mention that the development of the Ambient Air Quality Management Plan for the Tbilisi agglomeration began in compliance with the requirements of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and the national legislation, which envisages the reduction of atmospheric air pollution by conducting appropriate, result-oriented measures in the capital city of Georgia.

The mentioned document is being developed within the framework of the European Union technical support project "Support to Environmental Protection and Fight against Climate Change in Georgia" with the involvement of Georgian and European experts.

The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the relevant agencies included in the system of the Ministry, also the representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Tbilisi City Hall, the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, the European Union Delegation to Georgia and the civil sector attended the meeting.
