Mtatsminda Park hosted the Honey Festival.

Mtatsminda Park hosted the Tbilisi Honey Festival once again. About 40 manufacturers of honey and beekeeping products participated in the festival. During the festival, visitors could taste and buy honey products produced in different regions of Georgia and attend the presentation-tasting of beekeeping products.

 

Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Mr. Davit Tsitlidze, Director of the Rural Development Agency, attended the festival.

 

"The Ministry actively promotes agricultural development by implementing various programs and marketing campaigns. The mentioned festival also strives to popularise the field and raise awareness of Georgian honey in the local market. Meanwhile, Georgian honey is becoming more popular and in high demand in the EU market, thus, we are maintaining a rising export trend," noted Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

 

Georgian Beekeepers Union organized the Honey Festival with the financial support of the  Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Tbilisi City Hall, and Mtatsminda Park Alliances Caucasus Program 2 of the international organization "Mercy Corps", Swiss Development Agency (SDC), Austrian Development Agency (ADC) and Sweden.
