Nino Tandilashvili participates in the OSCE High-Level Conference on Climate Change.

Austria, Vienna hosted the high-level conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe ( OSCE).

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, together with the Secretary General of the OSCE, Mrs. Helga Maria Schmid, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Mrs. Annalena Baerbock, and the first Special Presidential Envoy for Climate of the United States of America, Mr. John Kerry participated in the panel discussion within the framework of the high-level conference.

The panel discussion was dedicated to the importance of regional cooperation in combating climate change.

‘’Regional collaboration becomes even more critical since climate change has no boundaries. OSCE plays a vital role in the mentioned processes. Georgia is a long-standing partner of the OSCE in tackling climate change challenges.

The ongoing regional project aiming to increase resilience in the South Caucasus region by reducing fire risks caused by climate change is a vivid example of the OSCE's support for cross-border cooperation.

The project will help Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia to provide better coordination between forestry, emergency, and border security services, which will strengthen the capabilities of local communities in the prevention, management, and response to fires", Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili noted.
Within the conference, the parties discussed the challenges posed by the Russia-Ukraine war regarding climate and environmental security.
