The severe hail and wind on September 2 damaged various crops, including vineyards, in the Municipalities of Kvareli, Telavi, Akhmeta, Sighnaghi, and Gurjaani in the Kakheti region.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, accompanied by the state representative of the Kakheti region, Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, got acquainted with the consequences of the natural disaster in the villages of several municipalities in the Kakheti region.Â

The Deputy Minister received information from staff members regarding the harvest's progress and the post-harvest handling and storage of hail-damaged crops.

"From today, it is possible to deliver damaged grapes to the state enterprise. The grape growers deliver their damaged grapes to "Harvest Management Company" LLC for 90 tetri, which is a significant compensation. It is crucial that harvesting is conducted in an organized manner and wine growers do not have to wait in queues for a long time", Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze noted.
