''Insured vineyards are less risky since reimbursement of their expenses is guaranteed''.- Deputy Minister.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, accompanied by the state representative of the Kakheti region, Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, got acquainted with the consequences of the natural disaster in the villages of several municipalities in the Kakheti region. The officials held meetings with the wine growers in different villages: Saniore, Nafareuli, Vazisubani, Jugaani, Tibaani, and Zveli Anaga villages in the Telavi, Gurjaani, and Sighnaghi municipalities.

Mr. Nasaridze emphasized the state's readiness to receive and deliver hail-damaged grapes. He also called on farmers to use their agro insurance more actively.

"Once again, we emphasize that insured vineyards are less risky since reimbursement of their expenses is guaranteed. In the coming days, the insurance companies will start the on-site assessment, calculate the damage, and launch the reimbursement process. Once again, I recommend farmers take maximum advantage of agro-insurance, where the state bears almost all costs and the farmer pays just 30%. Moreover, farmers should take this opportunity since they will have a guaranteed income during similar natural hazards.

The severe hail and wind on September 2 damaged various crops, including vineyards, in the municipalities of Kvareli, Telavi, Akhmeta, Sighnaghi, and Gurjaani in the Kakheti region.

The harvest coordination headquarters in Telavi City operates 24 hours a day, and all resources are mobilized to ensure that the affected grape growers can handle and store their crops without interruption.
