The delegation comprising of the large companies engaged in trade and distribution, import-export of wine and alcoholic beverages (Jilin Sifang Trading Co, Zhangjiakou Sugar, and Wine Food Co, Liaoning Xinhong Yingmin Industrial Co, Henan Wine Convenience Commercial Co, Baofeng Baijiu Industry Sales LLC, Aofeng Baijiu Industry Co), and representatives of the Chinese National Spirits Association and the Chinese Food and Fermentation Industry Research Institute, are currently paying a visit to Georgia to learn more about the history, traditions, and culture of Georgian wine, and the export potential.

"Georgia and the People's Republic of China have long-standing, friendly, and partnership relations. In recent years, the intensified ties at the governmental level and the signed agreement on strategic partnership provide a good opportunity to deepen the cooperation between the two countries in many directions.
Viticulture and winemaking have always been and are a priority direction for Georgia.
During the last ten years, the sector has developed significantly as a result of the state's sound policies: vineyard areas have expanded, existing and new enterprises have been reequipped, and family, small and medium wineries have developed. Most importantly, wine exports reached a record level. Several countries, including China, are set as strategic markets for Georgian wine. Accordingly, we are actively implementing different marketing campaigns in China to raise awareness, promote, and sell Georgian wine, which ultimately contributes to the significant growth of Georgian wine exports in the Chinese market", - noted Mr. Yuri Nozadze.

The head of the Delegation of the People's Republic of China, the Executive Vice-Chairman of the China National Association for Liquor and Spirits Circulation, Mr. Yuan LIU stated that the purpose of the visit to Georgia is to learn about the history, culture, and traditions of unique Georgian wine production and to better represent Georgian wine to Chinese people.

" The majority of our delegation members are visiting Georgia for the first time. I would emphasize our positive impressions of Georgian hospitality and unique wines. I think Georgian wine has great potential in the Chinese market. It is essential that Chinese consumers become aware of your long history of wine production, varietal diversity, and unique pitcher wine. Accordingly, by deepening relations at the state level, establishing necessary business connections, and taking marketing activities, it will be possible to promote Georgian wine more actively in the Chinese market and increase exports", the Executive Vice-Chairman of the China National Association for Liquor and Spirits Circulation, Mr. Yuan LIU stated.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of holding joint events to promote Georgian wine, including the wine exhibition "Georgia - Wine Cradle" and the high-level wine tourism forum. The guests will inspect the wine-producing enterprises in the Kartli and Kakheti regions, learn about both traditional and modern winemaking methods, and taste the types of Georgian wine.
