The Delegation of the Republic of Korea visited Georgia as part of the first international summit of protected areas.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Yuri Nozadze, and the Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, Mr. Davit Iosebashvili, held a working meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Korea.

 The parties discussed current and future cooperation opportunities between the two countries.


Mr. Yuri Nozadze expressed gratitude to the Korean guests for their support in the environmental area and for visiting Georgia to participate in the summit.


 The Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia has a long-standing and successful cooperation with the Republic of Korea and the Korean National Park Service.  The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding,  which included several fundamentally significant actions that have had a positive effect on the functioning of the protected area system.
